Christy Oakes

Christy Oakes is a Targeted Case Manager serving Pulaski County.

Christy received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-4 from Western Kentucky University in 1993. She continued her education at Eastern Kentucky University, earning Masters and Rank I degrees in Library Media Science. Christy taught 2nd and 3rd grade at Science Hill Independent School where she also served as Library Media Specialist.  While away from teaching and raising her children, she remained involved in the community by substitute teaching, serving as a Hospice volunteer and taking part in mission trips, both local and international.  Christy’s passion to serve children and families led her to a career in case management and she is inspired by those families she serves.

In her free time, Christy enjoys being in the outdoors, whether it be hiking, gardening, canning, or spending time at her family farm. She is deeply rooted in the church she grew up in, First Christian Somerset where she serves as a deacon, children’s leader, and on the hospitality team. She loves a good book, a good recipe, and sharing time around the table with her loved ones and friends. Christy and her husband Rodney are lifelong Pulaski countians and have 3 adult children, Anne Meredith, Grant and Caroline.
