Emily Keck

BA

Emily Keck is a Professional Counselor Intern providing mental health services in Somerset, Kentucky.

She holds four Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of the Cumberlands in Christian Youth and Family Ministry, Christian Missions, Christian Ministry, and Christian Studies. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands, planning to graduate and seek licensure in December 2025.

During her graduate studies, Emily has provided client-centered mental health care to children. She began practicing Play Therapy at Phoenix Preferred Care in the spring of 2025. She views counseling as a collaborative and empowering process that honors each person’s unique story, resilience, and capacity for growth. She is passionate about creating a safe space where creativity, reflection, and authenticity support healing and meaningful change.

Emily is a member of the Association for Play Therapy and the American Counseling Association. She is also affiliated with the Association for Creativity in Counseling and the International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling.

Outside of the therapy room, Emily spends her time being outdoors trail running, hiking, camping, or kayaking. She enjoys reading and baking for others. Creative expression is important to her, especially through sewing, upholstering, painting, and designing large floral displays.
