Kaity Harper

Kaity is a Targeted Case Manager and also assists with managing and directing referrals.
Kaity earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University in 2016. She continued her education by receiving a Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) degree from the University of Kentucky in 2020, with a concentration in Public Libraries and Youth Services and Literature.
Kaity worked in various public library settings and roles for approximately 10 years, before eventually joining Phoenix Preferred Care as a Targeted Case Manager in November 2022. Kaity has completed the necessary training to work with both the Severe Emotional Disability (SED) and Serious Mental Illness (SMI) communities. Kaity provides Targeted Case Management Services for children, teens, and adults in Wayne County, Kentucky through Phoenix Preferred Care’s Monticello office. In addition to duties as a Targeted Case Manager, Kaity assists with managing and directing referrals for the agency, especially those in the Jefferson/Louisville Metro area.
Kaity is most interested in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and Nonsuicidal Self-Injury/Self-Harm, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Outside of work, Kaity enjoys doing pottery and teaching pottery classes with her sister-in-law, attending various art classes in the community, visiting public libraries, journaling, and doing advocacy work related to Nonsuicidal Self-Injury, Mental Health, and LGBTQ+ issues. She is a member of the International Society for the Study of Self-Injury (ISSS) and PFLAG Somerset, as well as a certified Adult Peer Support Specialist (APSS). Kaity lives in Somerset, Kentucky with her husband Kevin, and their dog Piper, who they both adore.
