Sonya Wilds joins Phoenix Preferred Care as a Targeted Case Manager after a 30-year career in education. She spent her career with the Pulaski County School System where she held positions as Assistant Superintendent, teacher at Pulaski County High School and Pulaski Central School, Director of Community Relations, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Director of Student and Community Services. She also served as part time faculty at Eastern Kentucky University, teaching graduate courses in the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership. Before coming to the Pulaski County School System, Sonya worked as a youth development specialist for the Bluegrass Area Development District out of Lexington, for Knox County (TN) Social Services as an independent living coordinator for teens in state custody/residential homes, and for Madison County School System in the Madison Central Family Resource and Youth Services Center.
Sonya is a graduate of Pulaski County High School and Eastern Kentucky University where she obtained her bachelors (B.A.) and masters degree in education (M.A.Ed.) and an Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision. She has served in leadership roles for several professional organizations during her career.
Sonya resides in Somerset with her husband Jeff who are proud parents of adult daughters Emory and Olivia.
